Janthopoyism

Pencil: The Lead Centre/Present: What to Do When Your Energy Spikes

Book 6: The Internal Worship | Chapter 6.4 | 30 June 2021

Here comes a gigantic chapter! But it may very well be the most powerful for the majority of readers.

When we refer to energy spiking, we are talking about your emotional response suddenly shooting up (think anxiety, frustration, anger, defensiveness, impatience, etc.). This type of disturbance can include the converse "energy dropping down" feelings (depression, grief, exhaustion, etc.), but we are less concerned with the lower spectrum because we don't tend to act too hastily within that gloomy vibrational space.

Training yourself to catch your energy spiking is the most beneficial skill you can earn from Janthopoyism. Remember: an abruptly disrupted emotion is your Internal Universe firing a flare, warning that you have veered off the True Path. It is a case of new conflictive information entering your system and requiring you to solve it. You need to build awareness of your emotions to promptly unpick the knots as soon as you receive the slightest negative signal. The earlier you notice it, the better chance you have at preventing a spiral.

Inspirational speaker Abraham Hicks has blessed us with the perfect analogy for this. If you get out of your car atop a steep hill and tap the back bumper, it will begin to roll. If you quickly move to the vehicle's front, the car will lightly knock against your leg and come to a soft stop. But if you rush to the bottom of the hill and attempt to cease its motion from down there... well, it's going to flatten you.

At first, developing sensitivity to the rise in energy can be overwhelming. You might spend much of your day detecting piercing vibrations and fumbling to analyse their source. The good news is that with practice you'll get better at it surprisingly rapidly, and just by reading these words you've already begun.

The basic formula is to change what you are doing as soon as you notice your energy spike. That's it. Whether it's a change in your current actions or thoughts, it doesn't matter. What matters is to accept that there's an endless amount of happy energy available to you at all times. If you lose it, keep shifting, and you'll find it again. If you're unsure what has caused the spike, tweak your situation until it quietens down. If you genuinely cannot change your unwanted circumstances (which is hardly ever the truth, often an excuse), then it's useless to think about it. Make peace with the shadowy feeling, vocalise this intention, then shake its imaginary hand. Acknowledge it as the Universe's plan for you and patiently await your opportunity to bust a move. It may sound complicated, but if you can appreciate every moment as an exchange of divinity and surrender to that ride, no incident nor individual can mess up your day in any way.

When detecting a spike, our first recommendation is to check if there's a minor interference that you can immediately address. Primary examples are when you're hungry, thirsty, tired, cold, hot, need to pee etc. Such cases can appear unrelated to your deeper hardships, but perhaps one of these lesser annoyances is the root cause of your energy flying off the frame. Sometimes the tiniest of spikes (including the shallowest of drops) can be the most dangerous because you don't initially register them, and their sneaky flames spread before you can clock the chaos. But once you've satisfied these little boxes, you might note that your perception has shifted towards a tranquil space, and you'll have newfound drive and inner resources to deal with larger concerns.

Sometimes the issue(s) are less instantaneously solvable, such as when you're hungover, coming down off drugs, menstrual, or in any other sort of physical pain. In these conditions, we'd recommend taking it slow. If you catch yourself in a grim mood, stop talking. Don't pursue hugely consequential actions if you can help it, but rather edge closer to the good feelings the best you can while accepting that these uncomfortable vibes stem from a temporary state. The goal is to avoid that spiral.

There are days when everything is going alright, and then a conflict smashes into you from out of nowhere. Your energy can skyrocket through the roof with weirdness, and this upset easily sends your vibe veering off the road and crashing into the forest of bad times. Again, the aim is to detect that original spike as early as possible and snuff it out before the spiral of emotion occurs. Do not act from this heightened place, as these movements come from frazzled conditioned brain grooves.

As a rule, we'd suggest never doing anything if you're experiencing any inner resistance. You might get lucky with your outcome, but wobbly energy will attach itself to your execution. Instead, a conscious pause of evaluation will guarantee more reliable results. If you don't know what you're doing, wait until you do. Keeping the energy clean is the name of every game. If you can, rephrase it with humour. If something goes wrong as soon as you climb out of bed, like stubbing your toe or missing your alarm, greet the hiccup with a "good morning!" robbing it of its strength. When you can identify conflict as divine intervention, say "hello, I see you!" to the Universe, dominating the exchange. When you have a horrible thought, address your brain directly with "after all we've been through, why are you talking to me in that tone?", separating yourself in a comedic fashion. Divide yourself into different components existing concurrently. Practice making friends with the spike, then observe the mind from a distance (which we'll teach during the next chapter). Only tackle obstacles from a position of rational power. And once you sense that glimmer of positive vibrations, it's time to travel in that direction.

Brick walls of conflict are unavoidable; they exist by cosmic design to enforce evolution. Sometimes they will come at severely inopportune moments, blocking the final move at the end of a plan. Sometimes they will be purely mental, like when you arrive at a conclusion you thought you wanted, only to find something feels off. Okay, but understand that every brick wall has cracks. You can always wiggle through to the other side if you follow the slightest buzzing of better feelings. Irrespective of the barrier, you can (and must!) have fun conquering it, even if using baby steps to inch forward via an acute awareness of the most minute pleasant sensations. When faced with a hurdle, recall this paragraph, and you will be unstoppable.

There are days when everything spins upside down, and it seems like no matter what you do, the Universe is out to get you. These episodes are what we mean by spiralling. They manifest from a series of small undesirable things or a more considerable spike, but either way, they snowball until you can't do anything right. Your energy has slipped out of sorts, yet you march on, carrying an aura that functions as a magnet to summon negativity. It's a result of noting the spike(s) too late, and now you've tangled yourself in a sticky web of unsettlement. But do not fear! Once you realise you're in this quicksand, simply stop struggling within this tainted energy. Your smartest move is to cease all activities immediately, allowing yourself to gently float to the surface.

One helpful process is to trace your thoughts backwards through your day until you find the original seed that set the spiral spinning. It could be a paper cut, something someone said to you, an article you read, or any other number of seemingly insignificant events; it's irrelevant. Just by locating the precise initial source, you can often degrade the spiral's power or have a decent starting point from which to mend.

Another foolproof method is to shift tracks, building momentum down a fresh route. Initiate this by seeking little wins. Look over your to-do list, pick the most straightforward task imaginable, and then get it done. Cleaning your bedroom is an easy example, as is strolling to your local store to buy bread or tending to your garden. Once you've latched onto a sense of achievement, no matter how inconsequential, you can capitalise on the motion and hunt additional wins in tiny increments, playing friendly tennis with the Universe, unwinding the spiral in the opposite direction.

You may benefit from a go-to selection of media known to raise your vibration. When you get stuck, try watching videos of adults fainting on rollercoasters, toddlers eating lemons, deaf people hearing for the first time, malnourished dog transformations, or military workers reunited with their families. These clips work to shatter dark exteriors. Take a walk, chat with a friend, eat an apple, listen to David Bowie; just ten minutes of this intentional realignment can prod your energy to recognise the next effortless flow.

Many of these teachings echo Book 3's Accessing the Universal Mind. Your initial automated reaction will never be your most vibrant offering unless you've repeatedly performed this assignment, in which case, there probably won't be much of a spike anyway. And even in those familiar moments, taking a breather can be highly profitable. Every second you grasp before committing a move will slide you away from your conditioning. And the more space you can summon around something, the less authority it will have in your reality. Get the data you need into your brain drawers and then detach from the problem completely. Pursue different tasks, let the bigger conflict swirl in your background, checking up on it sporadically to see if the choices with the best energy are available. Using this method, you are essentially "sleeping on it" without sleeping, delegating the work to the subconscious of your Internal Universe.

If someone or something ever demands immediate action from you, you must ask yourself why you have surrendered so much power to them or it? Any person who does not respect your request to have some thinking room requires further evaluation. But even during these rushed minutes, one can speed up the process by getting the thoughts out through other mediums. Type up your options on your computer and then write them down on paper. This technique bounces the puzzle pieces outside of your mind, calming your energy due to the sensible approach, new ideas popping from nowhere until an option sparks the desirable emotion, allowing you to trace its guidance. And when in doubt, contemplate what would Jesus do? Or Superman? Or whichever inspirational figure you resonate with. I bet they'd have a good solution.

Yet another confusing emotional crosswire of human experience is the pleasurable poison of egotism, where we self-appoint ourselves an elevated platform of hierarchy, believing we are wiser or more morally in tune than our neighbour, and therefore, superior. One might display this arrogance by dismissing someone else's opinions as invalid or screaming down at them in a pseudo-woke fury. Curiously, this variation of spike can produce an enjoyable inner response.

"Outrage is like a lot of other things that feel good but, over time, devour us from the inside out. Except it's even more insidious than most vices because we don't even consciously acknowledge that it's a pleasure." – Tim Kreider

Be extremely wary of such mind-dominated stances, for they live far removed from the Spirit-Self. Know that if you were in harmony with your Internal Universe, it would be impossible to get a rise from you. Whenever you lose your energy in an aggressive, offended, or condescending stance, it is akin to waving an oversized flag that reads UNENLIGHTENED above your head. You have invited an external circumstance into your being and granted it full permission to provoke your vibrations into a frenzy or a cold cemented stature. Your brain has reacted with a rapid-fire machine gun of conditioned responses intended to raise you above others or at least belittle your company until you appear taller.

Talk about a big Jantho-no-no. If the material world is but an evolution of divinity, every path is valid and imperative for the conflict of creation. Reacting negatively on account of another person is a sacrifice of your god-given power. Loudly placing yourself higher than anyone is a complete misinterpretation of the energetic unity that binds us all. Yes, having the determination and faith in yourself to be the greatest on the planet is encouraged because it will provide the oomph required to get there. But the second you vocalise ego-driven self-worshipping jazz such as that, you've traded the humble air of a prophet with the asshole of a narcissist, and you automatically drop many rungs on the spiritual ladder, repeatedly smacking your third eye as you go down.

On a related note, one should be cautious of dealing with conflict when intoxicated by alcohol or drugs. An energy spike from this disadvantaged mental position tends to sweep the imbalanced mind along with it, and an eruption of heightened or sunken conditioned thoughts may follow. Get ready to swallow a spoonful of instant manifestation because the next morning will be swimming in regret. That's not a future we want, so if you are inclined to plaster yourself on occasion, move into it with the promise of taking nothing seriously and dancing away from confrontation.

We can hear some readers argue that acting on a spike of energy could be necessary for specific situations. For example, if a bear bounds towards you, hellbent on an attack, what good comes from requesting a minute to bypass an instinctual reaction? No good, we agree. But we're willing to bet that a hostile bear encounter will be rare in your lifetime. Furthermore, in such dangerous incidents, your brain will do its job, overriding the entire operation and executing fight/flight accordingly. We wouldn't worry about that.

Truthfully, this adrenaline-pumping emergency response has minimal use in our modern lifestyles and now blasts our brains during the silliest of circumstances. Sometimes another individual is causing us distress, sometimes it's the news, sometimes, it's our social media feeds. If you catch your energy spiking or dropping from these causes, switch them off and stroll away. If you find yourself frequently upset by the same source, get rid of it completely. This approach may seem like an "ignorance is bliss" attitude, but it's not as simplistic as that. Keep in mind that what people present to you is not reality; it is a slice of someone else's reality that they are trying to force into yours. A lot of these platforms aim to scare you into an engagement. If it's giving you a lousy sensation, that's because your True Path is rejecting it. It does not want it as an element of your narrative. It is fiercely demanding that you seek out the reality that slots into your energy with ease. So, please, for the love of your future, favour communications that reverberate positively.

Our world is an infinite number of things, no perspective is more justified than another, but it is not your assignment to chase stuff that makes you feel icky. Someone else will combat that problem just as someone else will perpetuate it. The system has it covered by design. You have your own unique mission, one where your dedication will fuel your passion and immensely benefit society at large. And, yes, following your bliss is how you get there.

The Universal Energy is One Thing. Your Internal Universe is a part of that One Thing, but it's the only part you have. The External Universe is not separate components but a film predominantly out of your control. Once you realise that everything (including yourself and everything that is not yourself) is merely an extension of Divine Consciousness, you can start to react to every occurrence, good or bad, as a miraculous storyline of which you are lucky to have earned a role.

When intentions don't turn out according to plan (and they won't), you can effortlessly swish around their obstacles by letting go into the merry fluidity of Life. And once this becomes your default mentality, the opposite of spiralling will occur—an experience with which you are already very familiar. It's those days when the Earth syncs up with your movements; you are on fire and on a roll, and if conflict does arise, you glide through it like summer butter without a mark on the blade. Notice how on a spiral day, that exact same conflict would have brought you to your knees. Now recognise the potency of positive energetic momentum, our cosmos permanently favouring resistance-less collaboration.

Practice improves everything you do, especially if you intend to improve. It is an indisputable fact in all areas of life. Begin with an attentive effort to follow this chapter's navigation, and you will gradually recondition your brain to think in this manner. Eventually, you will train an automated response of joy.

Janthopoyism is a spiritual philosophy meets self-improvement program.
We view the Absolute collection of all Universal Energy to be the highest power. You are part of that power. You are an extension of divinity.
The ultimate purpose of this power is to evolve, and we each have a unique part to play in this progression. The details of your role are relayed to you every moment of your life via emotional notifications.

The tricky bit is that human beings have developed a communication barrier between themselves and this instruction.
This barrier is called "the brain".
But never fear! By utilising some very simple practices, you can open the flow of exchange, granting you access to the ether of infinite ideas, the infallible path of your guided destiny, and the recollection of your holiness.

Which is basically a wanky way of saying that your life is about to get a whole bunch better.

Join the movement before it becomes too mainstream.
