The History of Janthopoyism
Book 5: The External Worship | Chapter 5.1 | 29 April 2021
Welcome to Book 5, where we take things to the next level! While Books 1 to 4 build a philosophical backbone to prop up our teachings, here is the practical side that utilises Janthopoyism's power to serve evolution as the best versions of ourselves, guaranteed!
But first, a brief history lesson on how Janthopoyism and the Skew System came to be.
The Skew System predates Janthopoyism, initially developed as a standalone self-help text. The program had almost nothing to do with spiritual philosophy whatsoever! Instead, it started with a simple question: is depression circumstantial? And, if so, can we cure depression by focusing on our outward lives rather than our minds?
It's an ambitious theory, especially considering how many of today's psychiatric therapies and spiritualistic mindfulness publications are obsessed with placing the internal before the external. But it was a worthy challenge due to comparable patterns throughout human mental concerns. Individuals complain of unshakable darkness, but after some questioning, it is rapidly uncovered that they are enduring experiences out of sync with their happiness. They hate their jobs, are unhealthy, lonely etc. Yet these completely fixable extrinsic problems dictate their days by spiralling from the minute they wake until everything feels wrong.
Another reverse indication that our proposition has merit is that people do find glee when life “goes their way”. For example, even the most discouraged minds explode into extended euphoria when falling in love or heading on vacation abroad. Granted, they usually slip back into former cerebral habits, but the evidence remains undeniable. If an external stimulation can provide such massive relief that overrides the brain, is it not possible to sustain at least a root of enjoyment if everything is going well?
In 2016, the study began. The program was temporarily named Skewercide as a wordplay on "skewing suicide", i.e. the route away from killing yourself. This silly term was never intended to become permanent, but when the shortened title "Skew" popped out, it stuck. Please feel free to call it whatever you wish, but that is what we refer to it as from here on out, for better or worse.
The basic structure was formulated using the teachings of Abraham Hicks, who compartmentalised life into four all-encompassing sections: Health, Relationships, Home, and Work. Yet, it quickly became apparent that something was missing to achieve total happiness, and thus the final component of Spirit was added. The fundamental idea is to keep an eye on every segment and then build up the weaker ones until each factor vibrates on an equally high grade. It is a straightforward (and pleasurable) process that we will explain in the next chapter, followed by in-depth details of those specific categories. But for now, know this: it didn't work.
Depression is a complex subject. It differs from person to person because everyone's cerebral tissue is so distinct. While we stand firm that anyone who dedicates themselves to the Skew schoolings will alleviate much inner turmoil, it remains problematic unless everybody can get everything in their life functioning at 100% all the time. The Skew System also neglects past traumas, intrusive thoughts, genetic imbalances, injuries and many other issues which directly affect the brain as an organ. As a result, the Pencil Program spun off, which you'll learn about in Book 6.
Further background is explained by our founder's own experience:
In 2016, when I started running the system, I wasn't in the most promising position myself. I was grinding at an office job in an industry I did not connect with. I smoked half a box of cigarettes a day and got drunk several times a week. I was forever falling in and out of "love" and heartbreak with whoever was open to it.
Fast-forward to 2019 when we concluded the Skew System had failed in curing depression and I sat back to take stock of my life. Within three short years, I was working my dream job (a cartoon scriptwriter!), which allowed me to travel the world whilst I did so, changing countries almost every two weeks just for fun. It was a full-time holiday! I was also healthier than I'd ever been, jogging up to 100km every month, no longer smoking, and only drinking socially with the thousands of people I was meeting along the way. I credit this entirely to the Skew System. There's nothing mystical about this guide. It's purely practical, and your brain will latch to it immediately.
I knew I was onto something good, and the self-help project remained a future endeavour. Meanwhile, in the background, I had my general "spiritual" viewpoint, which was growing ceaselessly as a unique philosophy, owing to my obsession with uncovering common esoteric threads winding through different worldwide religions and other relevant "meaning of life" perspectives. I never cared to write these thoughts down because they were just for me.
That was until I travelled around South America, a continent famed for its rich vibrational buzz. It proved to be the fertiliser for something to gently touch in my mind, like two individual plants intertwining their roots. It was a booming "oh my God" moment where I realised that my understanding of the Universe and my self-improvement Skew System worked as one singular philosophy. For lack of a better term, I was cradling the seedling of my own "religion", and it was sprouting faster than my writing hand could keep up! In fact, the information never stopped flowing. Even after my editor signed off these texts, I was still sneaking in lines. Rest assured that post-publication, the messages will continue to rush through me and may very well drive me mad eventually.
I had a choice to make. Should I author this scripture and risk scrutiny? Or should I let it drift away, never to exist in our universe? If you've paid attention to the previous chapters, you'll know why I chose the latter. My True Path had unlocked an uncharted avenue. It'd be sacrilegious to reject it, especially noting the sheer volume of data I found gushing into my skull. And so here we are.
One of the most accurate summaries of the Janthopoyism teachings is:
Appease the mind. Worship the soul.
We must pacify inner chatter to hear the highest emotional route to pursue. Without the brain's noisy distractions, we can feel where our energy is trying to align, and by following its command, we serve the evolution of all things. But if your mind vibrates with dissonance, how are you to achieve under that hefty burden?
The Skew System plays into this notion perfectly and from many angles. Primarily, we look to shed any conflict that is commonplace to the general human experience (Low-Quality Conflict). Sure, your heartache or unemployment or a broken leg or nosey neighbours are valid instances to cause upset. And, sure, your brain is so unparalleled that your perspectives will always provide brand new info for the Universe without fail. But this is not living an extraordinary existence. This is going through the motions of an average life story. We need a taming of the Skew to set your exceptional power free. Ask yourself which struggle you think serves evolution more: an argument with your ex? Or the astronaut whose fingers slipped off the space station's railing as they orbited the Earth? Now that spaceman's mind reverberates some fancy fresh thoughts for the collective consciousness, we assure you!
When all of your Skew cylinders fire with vigour, reality will pester you less with petty nonsense, and your mind will disengage with those numerous worries that claw at the driver's seat. The fewer things clogging your mental activity, the freer you are to daydream, the easier the Universe can deliver information to you. The river of least resistance, highlighted by your emotions, will flow stronger when rid of that clamour. As you grant each Skew the attention it requires, one of the Skews will explode into your passion, revealing your True Path. If you have not yet located your Meaning of Life, the Skew System will provide that for you too.
What's more, a robust Skew System will eventually click into a self-sustaining automated machine. The better you get it working, the greater satisfaction you feel, and in turn, this uplifted mindset benefits each Skew anyway. A stressless existence has infinitely documented health benefits. A smiley face translates nicely in the relationship department. A cheery outlook positively lifts every facet of life, and an elevated emotional response shall follow, which is an energetic/spiritual trade. The Korean religion Cheondoism (a branch of the Neo-Confucianist Donghak movement) states that we access heaven in our minds and can only move closer to full divinity by self-cultivation and improving one's nature. We agree.
The Universe permanently shoves conflict into your reality. That is by design as an order from the Cosmos enforcing evolution. But if you minimise the chances of the ordinary going wrong and instead fixate on your True Path, the conflict provided will be far more unique and suited to you. The Absolute will ask you questions that align with your calling, and you will love answering them. Friction transforms into exciting challenges, and the further you reach, your distinct evolutionary development will result in deeper puzzles that only you can solve. That is what we are genuinely seeking. None of this boring standard conflict! We want High-Quality Conflict!
Considering the Skew System involves regular maintenance, as soon as the energy in your life veers off, you will catch it early within its subcategory and can address it long before it snowballs. Then you'll resume the zoom down your slide of joy, producing the finest material for the Universe to revel in forever.
This program needs to become the priority in your day-to-day.
Because this is how we clean the dead weight from your True Path.
This is how we worship evolution.
