Pencil: The Point/Future: Finally Locating Your True Path
Book 6: The Internal Worship | Chapter 6.9 | 28 July 2021
For all its questionable content, Aleister Crowley's occult religion of Thelema coined a concept so satisfactorily that it provides a key to further unlock Janthopoyism's teachings. It is the notion of a True Will. Of course, interpretations run wild, but Janthopoyism comprehends True Will as an individual's "destiny" (for lack of a superior term), one which, when found, harmonises the Internal and External Universes into a single synergised entity. As a result, you and Life's flow will collaborate to maximise your learning momentum. Nature will only produce beneficial conflict while knocking inferior obstacles out of the way for you by cosmic order.
Janthopoyism views this True Will as your inner energy pulled along by its undiluted joy. What summons this state will differ from person to person, but the emotion remains the same. It feels good! And the reason it feels good is through an intentional design to encourage you to pursue it. The Universal Energy sends a signal of happy vibrations to let you know that you are on the right track. And when you're gleefully sliding downhill with that loving ease, the Universe will desire that you go faster so it can learn even more through you.
"When you make contact with your Higher Self, you'll have the support of Nature, which will allow for the manifestation of all you desire." — Deepak Chopra
Much like any Crowley blabbering, True Will is strange wording. We prefer the easier to understand True Path, a title our scripture mentions repeatedly. But the question persists: how do you locate this so-called True Path?
For some readers, your True Path is evident and you are confident you've uncovered what it is. For others, your True Path appears just as obvious, but after swift investigation, we reveal that your original thinking is short-sighted and requires more complex analysis. Finally, there are those who struggle to hear a calling in any direction, your ambitions never entirely synchronising with any path. Unfortunately, everyone's markup is so unique that it is impossible to promise a definitive solution, but we will dedicate the rest of this chapter to jolting a sense of destiny out of you.
Chapter 6.6 spoke about Janthopoyism's version of nirvana, which is to sustain happiness in every moment of your life. What an admirable pursuit! One which you will improve on with practice. Yet, it is an unreasonable quest. Conflict will disrupt your days, and only the zennest of masters won't taste those sour emotions.
On the other hand, there is a more obtainable positive sensation that one can hold onto forever, and that is the future-based vibration of excitement. Simply by ensuring there is a permanent plan on the horizon that stirs anticipation in your belly, you can daydream and instantaneously tune into your Internal Energy's requests, staying put on your True Path. It is about knowing what you want and then scheduling an event that works towards that goal with eagerness in your step. If you're excited about where you're headed and what comes after, then you're going the correct way.
Like the Universe, your True Path is not stagnant. It evolves. As you get older, your priorities will shift. As you achieve goals, further dreams will spawn. One of Janthopoyism's favourite methods of uncovering a divine mission is to ask yourself, "What would I do if money were not a restriction? How would the rest of my day/month/year unfold if I won the lottery?". Once you know the answer, you've just got to calculate how to live that life without winning the lottery. We assure you, there is a way. Conversely, you'll realise you've made it when, if you did win the lotto, you wouldn't change all that much anyway.
Advancing on that thought, why stop at money? Imagine whatever resources you need are at your disposal. A whole company of exceptionally skilled workers to do your bidding. The romantic life and the best friends who match your topmost fantasies. Luxurious places to stay wherever in the world. And a physique that makes you smile at every mirror. Then what? What happens next? If all of your desires manifested and you no longer felt compelled to acquire anything further, what lies beyond? There might be a more genuine pearl in that contemplation, one which shifts your route or at very least adds an extra block onto the road you're building, prompting additional consideration.
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey is a hugely influential book on these chapters, and one of its passing ideas profoundly slots into the unveiling of Janthopoyism's own True Path. It suggests that one should envision their funeral. When the comrades you love take turns to read your eulogies, what would you like them to say? Or, simpler, when you die, how would you like to be remembered by society and those who supported you along the way? Answering these questions can blow open a True Path in front of you, exposing how close or how far you exist from that tribute at this point in time.
Now imagine a time traveller arrives at your doorstep with news from the future. They are sorry to inform you that you don't accomplish the success you seek from your treasured pursuits, and your dreams don't ultimately manifest. How would this revelation alter what you were doing in the present? Know this: if you would change anything, you are not on your True Path. If there is an alteration in mind, make it immediately without requiring the forecast to nudge you so. However, if you could accept this unfortunate information and stick to your plan regardless because you adore the process and could not fathom any other life, then congratulations.
If you work for the thrill of your Internal Universe, pushing maximum energy into existing as your grandest self, then the execution is divine. In cases like this, outcome is irrelevant, for you did your part and it was the Universe that decided not to deliver the goods for whatever infallible reasoning. Working purely for some self-proclaimed entitled reward at the end of the rainbow is a tragic worship of your flimsy ego, and potentially sets your blessed story up for a dissatisfying conclusion.
If you're still struggling (or even if you're not), here is another fun yet practical exercise. Compile a list of ten motivational figures with whom you resonate. These can be historical personalities, celebrities who are so hot right now, or inspirational individuals you know in real life. After you've selected, spend some moments analysing them, preferably by watching interviews or reading about their work. Then whenever an adjective pops up which describes their character (witty, energetic, compassionate, wealthy, attractive, knowledgeable, charming, etc.), write that word down. Try to collect at least ten descriptors per person. Once done, scan these adjectives and note which term(s) appear multiple times. And there you go. Something inside of you is reaching towards that quality (or qualities). Simply improving those features in yourself will gradually align you with your True Path. Buy books, take lessons, participate in online tutorials that will assist this growth, and you shall effortlessly uncover more arrows as you advance.
Other than this, the weekly running of the Skew System will inevitably bring you closer to your True Path, marked by the Strongest Link perpetually scoring the highest. We may even casually propose that the maintenance of the four smaller Skews is merely to ensure the strongest can operate at full speed uninterrupted.
To attain your peak, you need to believe that you have more potential than everyone else. To achieve everything you want, you must assume that you can have it all. Do not confuse these mindsets with conceitedness or materialism. On the contrary, they are a celebration of your uniqueness. The nearer to your True Path you travel, the more individualistic your life will become, meaning fewer challengers. No one could possibly meet you on a level so acutely tailored for your Internal Universe. You will be riding a wave so specific to your tastes that nobody will care to take it from you because no one wants exactly what you want anyway. And there is a distinct version of this place that exists for everybody.
But in the face of such grandiose self-celebration, it is imperative to remember that you are not, in fact, better than anyone. No matter how magnificent your accolades may read on paper, they are not enough to support the intricately unified system functioning between our species, our planet, or the Universal Energy itself. You are nothing without everyone and everything else. The moment you find your thoughts looking down upon any person is the exact moment your ego reclaimed the wheel, and the cosmic guillotine will sever you from the bigger picture. To knock someone over for your acquisition is a cowardly shortcut and unnecessary. None of your successes must be at the expense of another. If they are, then you have allowed your brain to prioritise your evolution above the evolution of the Absolute Spirit, and you should be ashamed. This antagonistic action was not your call, and your amends should be abundant. In a metaphor: always plant more trees than you cut down, or your Spirit will suffer, and no amount of "success" can fix that.
If one party loses, both parties lose. A win-win is invariably possible. Aim to benefit the collective, and individuals will gain even more in the long run. You must refuse to settle for anything less. That is how you serve maximum evolution. That is the Janthopoyistic way.
Hopefully, this chapter's guidance has (at very least) offered a smidgen of what your True Path might look like. If so, we'd recommend that you contemplate ways to combine your True Path with your Work Skew. These two areas might be fundamentally related from the get-go, or the thought might seem ludicrous, but there is more to the idea than just money. It's calculating where your loudest passion meets your extraordinary talents and then using it to fulfil a gap in modern-day society. Determining the sweet spot where demand overlaps with your enthusiasm is the most rewarding method of sharing your vibrant energy with those who need it. And, yes, because money is a trade of energy, it is only fair that you earn some financial return. This allows for additional resources to hone your craft, producing a stronger quality result for others, and ultimately spinning a cycle of exchange to improve the world. And if you cannot discern how to accomplish this, we suggest becoming an expert and then teaching the knowledge directly.
Returning to the present. From here on, view your life backwards, through the future lens of your True Path. Whenever a decision is required, pause to consider it as if your dreams have already come to fruition. Suppose you were who you've always wanted to be, with everything you've ever wanted, eternally remembered as an honourable human who never hindered anyone else. What would you do right now? Live from that perspective.
The more actions you execute via this mindset, the more you train your Gatekeeper to nitpick those values from reality. And then the next move will become clearer. And the next, even clearer. Until the day you realise that you are sprinting down the joyous rush of Life intended precisely for you, humming in harmony with the Absolute, no longer separated into Internal and External partitions, now vibrating in unison with and as the singular Ultimate Being. And the consequent emotion that rises within you will be so blissfully beautiful that your mind will barely possess the mental capacity to withstand it.
