Sacred Travel: Senso Ji Temple

#holythrowback to 2019 when I visited the Sensō-ji temple in Tokyo, Japan.
Legend tells that two fishermen brothers (Hinokuma Hamanari and Hinokuma Takenari) found a statue of Bodhisattva goddess Kannon in the river. They took the sculpture to the village’s chief, who noted its aura of divinity and converted his house into a temple so that people could praise the figurine. This project was completed in 645, making Sensō-ji the oldest temple in the city. It is also the most popular, with over 30 million annual visitors.
Kannon (Guanyin) is a widespread entity in Eastern religion, worshipped in Buddhism, Shinto, Taoism, Caodaism, and Chinese folk religion. She is associated with compassion, mercy, and the ability to perceive the sounds of the world. As an advanced bodhisattva, she has not fully reached Buddha enlightenment but is on the path which comes with great magic and wisdom.
Sensō-ji was originally part of the Tendai Lotus School of Mahāyāna Buddhism, but that ended after America’s infamous WW2 "Bombing of Tokyo" on 10 March 1945. Over 100,000 people were killed, and Sensō-ji was destroyed. They rebuilt the temple, and it became a representative of rebirth as an independent Buddhist establishment.
Other photos include the five-story pagoda (2 & 3), Buddha’s guardian (Niō, 7), and a swastika (9) that you’ll find freely upon most Vedic-based holy buildings as a potent symbol of positive spirituality. Germany ruined that nice thing for Europe. Thanks a lot.
Religion in East Asia is largely fluid, and you can devote yourself to multiple beliefs. 70.5% of Japan are Shinto, while 67.2% are Buddhist. They overlap, and it’s beautiful. One day hopefully the West can catch up with this type of understanding.

Janthopoyism is a spiritual philosophy meets self-improvement program.
We view the Absolute collection of all Universal Energy to be the highest power. You are part of that power. You are an extension of divinity.
The ultimate purpose of this power is to evolve, and we each have a unique part to play in this progression. The details of your role are relayed to you every moment of your life via emotional notifications.

The tricky bit is that human beings have developed a communication barrier between themselves and this instruction.
This barrier is called "the brain".
But never fear! By utilising some very simple practices, you can open the flow of exchange, granting you access to the ether of infinite ideas, the infallible path of your guided destiny, and the recollection of your holiness.

Which is basically a wanky way of saying that your life is about to get a whole bunch better.

Join the movement before it becomes too mainstream.
