Sacred Travel: Pere Lachaise Cemetery

#holythrowback to 2021, when I visited Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, France.
Established in 1804, it is Paris’ largest cemetery (110 acres) and is undoubtedly the most famous graveyard in the world. With over one million burials, some names you may recognise include Jim Morrison (2nd photo), Oscar Wilde (3rd photo), Frédéric Chopin (4th photo), and Édith Piaf (5th photo).
However, I was more interested in Allan Kardec’s grave (1st photo). This educator was a fierce sceptic against mediums speaking with the dead, but after extensive studies, he deemed it entirely authentic. He went on to found the Spiritism religion, where he taught that we are immortal spirits temporarily living inside physical bodies until we incarnate enough times to attain a moral and intellectual release.
This philosophy proved hugely influential to many subsequent theologies such as Umbanda and CaoĐài, the latter of which claims Allan as a prophet of the new universal religion. Woweee, it’s not every day that I stand next to the bones of a legit prophet! What an honour!
The final five snaps are of random but interesting sites I found around, including that of Victor Noir, a general nobody during life, but his well-endowed statue was soon rumoured to improve fertility if you give it a rub. Notice how a certain area shines a different colour. Not a bad afterlife.
Père Lachaise is non-denominational, but the city is dominated by Catholicism (61%), with Irreligion coming in second (25%). And may I add that Paris is one of the most stimulating cities I’ve ever explored and I am dying to get back there.

Janthopoyism is a spiritual philosophy meets self-improvement program.
We view the Absolute collection of all Universal Energy to be the highest power. You are part of that power. You are an extension of divinity.
The ultimate purpose of this power is to evolve, and we each have a unique part to play in this progression. The details of your role are relayed to you every moment of your life via emotional notifications.

The tricky bit is that human beings have developed a communication barrier between themselves and this instruction.
This barrier is called "the brain".
But never fear! By utilising some very simple practices, you can open the flow of exchange, granting you access to the ether of infinite ideas, the infallible path of your guided destiny, and the recollection of your holiness.

Which is basically a wanky way of saying that your life is about to get a whole bunch better.

Join the movement before it becomes too mainstream.
