Sacred Travel: St Marys Basilica

#holythrowback to 2021 when I visited St. Mary’s Basilica, Kraków, Poland.
Not long after it was completed in 1347, publications clamoured to sing this church’s praise, often called “one of the most spectacularly decorated cathedral interiors in all of Europe”. Such a meaningless statement usually makes me laugh. “One of the...?” Out of how many, exactly? However, when I strolled inside, my mouth zipped shut, as it indeed was one of the most (or perhaps even the most) spectacularly decorated cathedral interiors I’ve seen in all of Europe! These photos help to state my case even if they fail miserably.
Standing proud as a 262 ft tall example of Polish Gothic architecture, this establishment is of Roman Catholic denomination. And if its gorgeousness isn’t enough to wow your tastebuds, then how about the trumpet song? You know, the little tune (Hejnał mariacki) that a trumpeter plays from the top, every hour on the hour, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The reason is to honour the 13th-century trumpeter who was shot in the throat while warning of a Mongol attack. You may recognise the story from the famous English book The Trumpeter of Krakow by Eric P. Kelly. One could only wish for such a legacy!
In 1978, St. Mary’s Basilica became a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Historic Centre of Kraków. It has proven extremely popular around the globe, most notably in Chicago, where both Saint Michael’s and Saint John Cantius are modeled after its distinct Polish style.
Roman Catholicism constitutes 71.30% of Poland’s faith, up there with the highest in the world. Its total 72.43% Christianity seems like a lot, but these 2021 figures are plummeting compared to a decade earlier with 87.58%. Meanwhile, “no religion” has climbed from 2.41% to 6.87% in the same time frame. 20.57% are undeclared.

Janthopoyism is a spiritual philosophy meets self-improvement program.
We view the Absolute collection of all Universal Energy to be the highest power. You are part of that power. You are an extension of divinity.
The ultimate purpose of this power is to evolve, and we each have a unique part to play in this progression. The details of your role are relayed to you every moment of your life via emotional notifications.

The tricky bit is that human beings have developed a communication barrier between themselves and this instruction.
This barrier is called "the brain".
But never fear! By utilising some very simple practices, you can open the flow of exchange, granting you access to the ether of infinite ideas, the infallible path of your guided destiny, and the recollection of your holiness.

Which is basically a wanky way of saying that your life is about to get a whole bunch better.

Join the movement before it becomes too mainstream.
