Sacred Travel: The Church of St Dominic

#holythrowback to 2021, when I visited The Church of St. Dominic in Lisbon, Portugal.
The backstory to this holy location is so intense that one could even use it as evidence towards a Higher Power. And yet, hardly anyone knows of its existence! Hence, here I come to spread the Good/Bad Word.
It started in 1506 when someone claimed they witnessed Jesus’ face on the altar, but another man was unconvinced, proposing it was merely the reflection of a candle. This disagreement caused trouble because the objector was a "New Christian", a Jew who had been forcibly converted to Christianity. Due to his lower societal rank, the "Real Christians" did not hesitate to drag the man out and beat him to death for denying the miracle.
Quick hysteria followed, where the townsfolk suddenly blamed New Christians for everything going wrong (drought, famine, plagues, etc.) and proceeded to murder thousands of Jews, many tortured and killed within this square. It is remembered as The Lisbon Massacre. WWJD? Not this. Jesus was a Jew, ffs!!
Consequently, "God" smashed this building with fury. In 1531, an earthquake caused damage, and the Great Lisbon earthquake flattened it in 1755. The people eventually finished rebuilding in 1807, and then "God" gutted it with a six-hour fire in 1959. In 1994, they reopened, but the community understood the message and left much of the interior as-is, the signs of the flames permanently scarring the walls.
The final photo is the memorial monument outside. The base has a Book of Job verse that reads, "O earth, cover not thou my blood, and let my cry have no place."
Portugal is hugely religious, with an 84.77% Christian following (80.20% Catholic). And despite the previous horror story, I must add that it’s one of the friendliest countries on the continent.

Janthopoyism is a spiritual philosophy meets self-improvement program.
We view the Absolute collection of all Universal Energy to be the highest power. You are part of that power. You are an extension of divinity.
The ultimate purpose of this power is to evolve, and we each have a unique part to play in this progression. The details of your role are relayed to you every moment of your life via emotional notifications.

The tricky bit is that human beings have developed a communication barrier between themselves and this instruction.
This barrier is called "the brain".
But never fear! By utilising some very simple practices, you can open the flow of exchange, granting you access to the ether of infinite ideas, the infallible path of your guided destiny, and the recollection of your holiness.

Which is basically a wanky way of saying that your life is about to get a whole bunch better.

Join the movement before it becomes too mainstream.
