Sacred Travel: Blucifer
#holythrowback to 2024 when I visited Blucifer (Blue Mustang) in Denver, Colorado, USA.
Anything to do with Denver International Airport will raise a suspicious eyebrow due to the seemingly endless conspiracy theories surrounding the area. Some say it is the home base for the Satanic Illuminati. Others believe it’s a prison related to aliens. But whatever the truth, DEN has done little to discourage any rumours, frequently milking the reputation with curious murals and talking gargoyles.
Be that as it may, no evil presence stands as strong as 32-foot tall blue horse, Blucifer. Its glowing red eyes probably have something to do with the unsettled reaction. Or that the sculpture fell on its artist, Luis Jiménez, severing an artery and killing the man. That’s right. Blucifer murdered his maker. And that’s no rumour. That genuinely happened.
Ever since its erection in 2008, Denver locals have discussed its removal. The demonic connotations are one problem, but some took further issue with its visible scrotum and anus, lolz. The city contemplated what to do and ultimately kept it, insuring the piece at a value of $2,000,000.
Visiting this wicked landmark has sat on my bucket list forever, and I was so relieved to finally get here! Especially because it’s actually over an hour walk away from the airport, where one has to cross many lanes of traffic. This damn horse nearly killed me too!
64% of Colorado are Christian. They are also 1% Judaism, 1% Muslim, and 1% Buddhist. 4% don’t care. No word on the New World Order cult, but I hear they tend to keep it hush.
