Sacred Travel: The Sacrament of the Last Supper

#holythrowback to 2020 when I visited The Sacrament of the Last Supper by Salvador Dalí in the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC, USA.
One of my few travel regrets was attempting to conquer the National Gallery of Art on my lunch break. Impossible. I resorted to zooming along at full speed, catching glimpses of massively impressive pieces until a classic I recognised snapped at my awareness. I’d slam on brakes, click a photo and then zip off the frame again, appreciating nothing. The worst example came with this Dali masterpiece, officially the most popular item in the museum. Only when I got home, I noticed my photo was blurry! Damnit! That’s why the first image of this collection is NOT by my own hand. The second is.
Completed in 1955, this 105 in × 65.6 oil work was part of Dali’s “Nuclear Mysticism” era, during which he combined Christian iconography with atomic disintegration. The dimensions of the painting adhere to the golden ratio; Dalí once stating, “The Communion must be symmetrical.” Due to the title, we can assume it is a futuristic interpretation of Jesus’ Last Supper, although who exactly is who is still debated.
The National Gallery of Art has many other wonders to love, and I have included some of those here, such as Self-Portrait by Vincent van Gogh (photo 4), The Emperor Napoleon in His Study at the Tuileries by Jacques-Louis David (photo 5), A Rough Preparation Piece of Madonna and Child with Saint John the Baptist by Raphael (photo 6), and The Big Blue Cock by Katharina Fritsch (photo 7).
Christianity makes up 65% of the American capital’s religious demographic. 25% are dedicated to nothing whatsoever.
UPDATE: Happy ending! In 2024 I found myself in DC again, and I snatched the opportunity to revisit that piece and finally give it the photoshoot it deserved, as you can see in the final photo. What a blessed life!

The ultimate purpose of this power is to evolve, and we each have a unique part to play in this progression. The details of your role are relayed to you every moment of your life via emotional notifications.

The tricky bit is that human beings have developed a communication barrier between themselves and this instruction.
This barrier is called "the brain".
But never fear! By utilising some very simple practices, you can open the flow of exchange, granting you access to the ether of infinite ideas, the infallible path of your guided destiny, and the recollection of your holiness.

Which is basically a wanky way of saying that your life is about to get a whole bunch better.

Join the movement before it becomes too mainstream.
